Association for people traumatized in early childhood
Traumakinder, Verein für frühkindlich traumatisierte Menschen e.V. (association for people traumatized in early childhood) was founded in 2022 by a german initiative group of affected people and their supporters. The association is a non-profit organization. It is mainly financed by membership fees and donations.
The board members are Franks and Dorothea Sidenstein.
Scientific Advisory Board
Since 2025, Prof. Dr. Eva Möhler has been supporting the association as a scientific advisor.
Dr. Möhler is a specialist physician and holds the Chair of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychotherapy, and Psychosomatics. She serves as chief physician at the University Hospital of Saarland and at the SHG Clinics in Saarbrücken.
Prof. Möhler’s research focuses on early childhood predictors of human behavioral development, child maltreatment, and early life stress. Together with Andrea Dixius, she developed and evaluated an internationally recognized training program for stress and emotion regulation in adolescents (START) and in children (START-Kids).
One of her main areas of clinical commitment is in the field of medical child protection.
